Here at Beauty Banter, we’re suckers for DIYs and beauty hacks, especially ones that work.
It’s almost painful to sing the praises of coconut oil…but, there’s a reason so many celebs douse themselves in it: it really works! Everyone from #hairenvy Khloé Kardashian and VS models Miranda Kerr and Candice Swanepoel credit coconut oil hair masks for their gorgeous manes. Miranda also says that she’s used apple cidar vinegar to rinse her hair to shiny perfection.
Fellow VS angel Lily Aldridge mixes coconut oil with brown sugar for a sweet body scrub.
Cate Blanchett’s go-to body scrub is a 3-ingredient miracle: olive or macadamia oil (but hey, if you’ve got both, use both!), grapefruit juice, and sea salt.
Gwyneth Paltrow, who’s basically the all-natural beauty guru, slathers her agelss visage with a mixture of “oil and manuka honey.” Olive, almond, and of course coconut oils are great for skin, and we already know the beauty benefits of honey. Judging from Gwyneth’s phenomenal complexion, we’re betting this concoction does wonders for the complexion.
Kim K. and Victoria Beckham apparently love avocados as much as we do…both have raved about an avocado-apricot face mask to fight wrinkles, purify, and brighten skin. Both fruits (yes, avocado is a fruit) are rich in anti-oxidants that combat premature aging of the skin. Jessica Biel has also confessed to using avocado on her face.
For a skin-firming treat, Katy Perry mixes a face mask of egg whites and almond oil.
